Steel nails commonly sourced for the Nigerian market

The options below reflect the product groups visible across Nigerian construction and hardware supply pages. Every order remains specification-led: confirm size, wire diameter, head, shank, finish, quantity and packing before production.

General construction

Common Wire Nails

For general building, timber work and wholesale hardware supply. Nigerian listings often use inch-based size descriptions, so send the exact diameter and length required.

Roof sheets

Roofing Nails

Galvanized roofing nails with the specified head, washer or cap and smooth, twisted or screw shank. Local supplier pages frequently show 2, 2.5 and 3 inch buying references.

Start from the product your customers already buy

These are market-reference descriptions, not automatic factory specifications. Send an existing sample, drawing, purchase sheet or clear measurements so both sides quote the same product.

Quotation basis: product + specification + quantity + packing method.

Choose packing for handling, resale and storage

Packing affects landed handling, distributor inventory and retail presentation. We can review the net weight, inner unit, carton strength, pallet, label and private-brand artwork as one order specification.

Bulk wholesale packing

Bag or carton formats for importers and hardware stockists.

Counted inner boxes

Small boxes in a master carton for retail and controlled use.

OEM brand packing

Buyer-approved logo, colors, product name, barcode and label layout.

Export protection

Carton, straps and pallet plan reviewed for sea shipment and storage.

Finish selection / 05

Plan for coastal exposure, inland storage and end use

A finish should be selected from the actual application—not from the country name alone. Coastal humidity, rain exposure, warehouse conditions and the storage period can change the requirement.

  • Roofing and outdoor use: confirm coating type, coating requirement, washer or cap and expected exposure.
  • Indoor and general use: polished or black finishes may suit some applications when the buyer approves the exposure conditions.
  • Long storage: review inner protection, carton strength, pallet wrap and warehouse environment.

Finish and packing should be approved before mass production.

Confirm Nigeria import requirements before shipment

SONCAP is Nigeria’s pre-shipment conformity process for products regulated by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria. Whether a specific nail product is regulated, and which certificate or standard applies, should be confirmed from its current HS code and product description before loading.

Buyer and importer checklist

  1. 1. Product classification: confirm the HS code, exact description and applicable Nigerian standard.
  2. 2. SONCAP applicability: ask SON, the approved conformity provider or your Nigerian import agent whether Product Certificate and SONCAP Certificate steps apply.
  3. 3. Import documents: confirm current Form M, PAAR, invoice, packing list, bill of lading, origin and clearance requirements with your bank and customs broker.
  4. 4. Marking: approve product, carton, importer and compliance information before printing.

Dingzhou Best can provide agreed commercial documents, packing details, samples and production records. The Nigerian importer or its authorized agent remains responsible for confirming current classification, permits, certificates, duties and clearance requirements. FOB shipment planning for dense steel cargo

Nail orders are weight-dense. We review carton weight, pallet use, container payload and mixed-size quantities before proposing FCL or LCL shipment. Lagos Port Complex at Apapa and Tin Can Island Port are common planning references; the final destination and route are selected with the buyer’s forwarder.

Frequently asked questions

Which nails can you supply for Nigeria?

Our range includes common wire nails, roofing nails, concrete nails, black steel nails, lost head nails and coil or pallet nails. Availability is confirmed from your required specification.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The normal MOQ is 5 tons or 200 cartons. Trial orders are supported when the selected product, size mix and packing are practical for production.

Can I receive samples before ordering?

Yes. Samples can be supplied for quality evaluation. A basic sample fee is normally charged, and its return can be discussed when a formal order is placed.

Can you make private-label packs for Nigerian distributors?

Yes. OEM/ODM can cover the product specification, inner packing, master carton, brand logo and approved label artwork.

Do you supply 2, 2.5 and 3 inch roofing nails?

These lengths appear frequently in Nigerian roofing supply pages. Send the full diameter, head or washer, shank, finish, quantity and packing so the factory can confirm feasibility and quote the correct product.

Can nail orders ship by FCL or LCL?

Yes. Both FCL and LCL sea shipment are supported. Nail cargo is dense, so the final plan should consider cargo weight, carton dimensions, pallet use and the forwarder’s route.

Does every nail shipment require SONCAP?

Do not assume that one rule applies to every nail product. The Nigerian importer or authorized agent should confirm the HS code, whether the product is SON-regulated, the applicable standard and the current certificate route before shipment.

What do you need for an accurate FOB quote?

Send the product name, complete dimensions, material or finish, quantity, packing method, OEM artwork needs and preferred loading schedule. A sample or drawing is recommended when any feature is critical.
