Match the nail and pack to your Kenya sales channel

Kenya search results show local manufacturers, building-material dealers, mabati suppliers and specialist tool stores. A successful import order therefore starts with the buyer type, end use and resale unit—not only the nail name.

Use Kenya listings as a buying reference—not a factory default

The references below describe formats visible on Kenya supplier pages. Send your own specification, sample or purchase sheet so we can confirm feasibility and quote like for like.

Buyer-approved retail units consolidated in a strong export carton.

Finish selection / 05

Confirm exposure before selecting polished, black or galvanized nails

Coastal Mombasa, Nairobi warehouses, highland markets and inland construction locations do not create the same exposure. Select the finish from the application, storage period and buyer-approved corrosion requirement.

  • Roofing/outdoor: confirm coating type, coating target, washer or cap and expected exposure.
  • Indoor/general: polished or black finishes may suit some applications when the buyer accepts the conditions.
  • Warehouse/storage: review inner protection, carton construction, pallet wrap and ventilation.

Confirm KEBS PVoC, CoC, iCMS and ACD before loading

Kenya Bureau of Standards operates the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity program for products covered by Kenyan technical regulations and mandatory standards. Kenya Revenue Authority uses iCMS for customs processing and introduced an Advance Cargo Declaration reference for containerized cargo loaded for Kenyan ports from 3 August 2026. Confirm the current route before shipment.

Importer and clearing-agent checklist

  1. 1. Classification: verify the current HS code, precise nail description and applicable Kenyan standard.
  2. 2. PVoC and CoC: confirm whether inspection, testing, registration and a Certificate of Conformity apply to the product and shipment.
  3. 3. IDF and iCMS: ask the licensed clearing agent to confirm the Import Declaration Form, customs entry, valuation, duties and required supporting documents.
  4. 4. ACD for containers: confirm the Advance Cargo Declaration and ensure the reference code is endorsed on the bill of lading before loading when applicable.
  5. 5. ISM and marking: confirm Import Standardization Mark applicability and approve product, carton and importer information before printing.

Dingzhou Best can provide agreed commercial documents, samples, packing details and production records. The Kenyan importer or its authorized agent remains responsible for classification, permits, certificates, duties and clearance. This page is a sourcing guide, not legal or customs advice.

Nail cargo is weight-dense. We review sack or carton weight, pallet use, mixed sizes and container payload before recommending FCL or LCL. Mombasa is the main port reference; Nairobi or Naivasha inland container depots can be discussed with the buyer’s licensed clearing agent and forwarder.

Frequently asked questions

Which nails can you supply for Kenya?

Our range includes common wire nails, roofing nails, concrete nails, black steel nails, lost head nails and coil or pallet nails. Availability is confirmed from the complete specification.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The normal MOQ is 5 tons or 200 cartons. Trial orders are supported when the product, size mix and packing are practical for production.

Can I receive samples before ordering?

Yes. Samples can be supplied for quality evaluation. A basic sample fee is normally charged, and its return can be discussed when a formal order is placed.

Can you make private-label packs for Kenyan distributors?

Yes. OEM/ODM can cover the product specification, inner pack, master carton, brand logo and approved label artwork.

Do you supply galvanized umbrella-head roofing nails?

Yes, subject to specification confirmation. Send length, head and washer dimensions, smooth or twisted shank, coating requirement, quantity and the required kilogram, bag or carton pack.

Can the order ship by FCL or LCL to Mombasa?

Yes. Both FCL and LCL sea shipment are supported. The final plan should consider cargo weight, pack dimensions, pallet use, ACD requirements and the buyer’s forwarder route.

Does every nail shipment require KEBS PVoC?

The importer or clearing agent should confirm the exact HS code, applicable mandatory standard, PVoC route and Certificate of Conformity requirements with KEBS before shipment. Do not rely only on a generic nail description.

What is Kenya’s ACD requirement for containerized cargo?

KRA’s notice states that exporters shipping containerized cargo to Kenyan ports obtain an Advance Cargo Declaration reference at loading and have it endorsed on the bill of lading. Confirm the current process with your clearing agent and carrier before shipment.

What do you need for an accurate FOB quote?

Send the product, dimensions, material or finish, quantity, packing method, OEM artwork needs and loading schedule. A sample or drawing is recommended when any feature is critical.
